  • Staff Leadership & Development — Recruit, mentor, and develop House Parents and boarding staff; build a team culture of consistency, warmth, and professionalism across a 24/7 residential operation.
  • Pastoral Oversight — Support students' emotional, social, and physical development, with particular sensitivity to the needs of students living away from home and adjusting to a new culture or country.

  • Community Life — Cultivate a vibrant boarding community through structured activities, cultural celebrations, and events that build belonging and intercultural understanding.

We are looking for a warm, energetic, and dependable House Parent to become a live-in guardian and mentor within our boarding community. You'll be a trusted adult presence in students' daily lives — supporting their wellbeing, building house spirit, and helping create a residential experience that feels genuinely like home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day pastoral care, ensuring students' physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing within the house.
  • Foster an inclusive, respectful environment that celebrates the cultural diversity of an international student body.
  • Plan and lead engaging house activities that build community, friendship, and personal growth outside the classroom.
  • Uphold house rules and boarding standards with a balance of consistency and empathy, acting as both a role model and a source of support.
  • Work closely with the Head of Boarding and wider pastoral team to address student concerns, manage conflicts, and escalate welfare issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate wellbeing records and communicate clearly with parents/guardians, teachers, and school leadership.
  • Support students through the specific challenges of boarding life, including homesickness, cultural adjustment, and time away from family.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with young people in a boarding, residential, or pastoral care setting; international school experience is an advantage.
  • Willingness to live on or near campus and work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and school holidays as required.
  • Strong communication, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity when working with an international community.
  • Well organized, calm under pressure, and comfortable balancing structure with genuine warmth.
